With Big Bombastic Collective’s (BBC) debut album, ”DIAMONDS”, the listener is treated to a very unique and energetic musical cocktail. The music is often built upon simple melodies that go well together with smashing drums, bubbling basses and grinding guitar-chords.

Stylistically BBC is a widespread hybrid, with its music referring to genres such as indie- and postrock, noise, country and popmusic. Based on these references BBC have succeeded in creating a sound that is both unique and original, as is the orchestration, that being brass instruments, acoustic and electric basses, guitar, drums and collective singing, proving that this is an outstanding group, who’s music one cannot easily categorise.

”DIAMONDS” is a record with great musical and dynamic variation. This is clear on tracks such as the very energetic “Men jag känner ingenting”, the opening song “La Musique de Bombastic which is full of contrasts, or the courteous “Bara vara snäll” which shows a different, more subtle side of the music.

In the autumn of 2005 the collective went into the studio to capture and immortalize the live energy that has characterised the multi-Scandinavian BBC since its birth in 2002, and also to make it possible to explore the music in depth and work from there. This was realized in a small studio filled with microphones, different instruments, some good friends and with the help of producers/musicians Mads Bauer and Casper Clausen from the band “Efterklang”.

The result is a strong debut-album, where live-energy and spontaneity unite and melt together with great arrangements, leaving the listener with a feeling of having experienced a constant presence and an overwhelming musical embracement.
